The United States (KAMI) Parliament drafted a new bill. The regulation targets Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As written by the South China Morning Post, the bill, called the Enemy Act, will target Xi’s role as president in China.
If approved, perhaps Xi will no longer be called the president at least in the US.
The bill was introduced by Republican Representative Scott Perry of Pennsylvania on August 7.
This leads to the term president which refers to a leader whose citizens should elect.
Namun, Xi, couldn’t bear it because he wasn’t elected.
So that later, Xi will only be referred to as the General Secretary (Secretary General) of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), a position he also currently holds.
“The bill chooses China,” the media wrote as quoted Monday (24 Agustus 2020).
“But it doesn’t target leaders in many other countries who are not elected or come to power due to elections that are not considered free and fair.”
Di Tiongkok, Xi held three posts. Apart from the president and secretary-general of the communist party, he is also the chairman of the government’s central military commission.
Observers have indeed seen a number of US officials not mentioning Xi as president on a number of occasions.
Sampai sekarang, there has been no official Chinese comment on this.
