Ensuring Sputnik V is Safe, Russia Offers Indonesia Cooperation in Corona Vaccine Production

The Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Lyudmila Vorobieva, said that her country had offered to cooperate with the Indonesian government to produce the Sputnik V. Coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine.

“Russia has (proposed) cooperation with Indonesia regarding vaccines and there have been several contexts established between the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the main distributor of vaccines. I hope this cooperation will develop after the vaccines are certified,” Vorobieva said in a press conference, Rabu (Agustus 26).

Selanjutnya, he said the presidents of the two countries had agreed to cooperate in the field of preventing the spread of Covid-19 in a conversation via teleconference several months ago.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund is said to be ready to cooperate with Indonesia in the distribution of vaccines when the clinical trials have been completed.

Vorobieva said that apart from distribution, the Russian Direct Investment Fund is also ready to produce several vaccine components in Indonesia.

He hopes that this proposal will receive a positive response from the Indonesian government.
