Amid the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Bali, the local government will impose stricter screening measures on visitors to the resort island.
As stated by Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, the measures would be enforced for the next two weeks.
Pandjaitan is one of several officials tasked by President Joko Widodo to handling the pandemic of COVID-19 in several provinces with high case numbers and fatalities, including Bali.
Luhut said during a teleconference on Friday as cited from Kompas.com, “People wanting to visit Bali will be required to undergo strict testing.”
According to data from the Bali administration, the province recorded more than 1,600 new cases in the past few weeks. And the number of fatalities has almost doubled from 100 on Sept. 4 untuk 199 pada hari Jumat. And more than 9,300 orang telah meninggal.
