“Tanjung Buton Port is one of the ports in Indonesia that already has a Regional Company Port Business Entity (BUP), which helps the Ministry of Transportation also assists KSOP in providing port services, namely PT Samudera Siak. Sepanjang jalan, partnerships and joint commitments are needed,” kata Alfred.
This field study visit also wanted to see firsthand the operational management of the Tanjung Intan Cilacap port and get information related to good port management that has been implemented by KSOP and Pelindo III Cilacap.
“We received advice from the head of KSOP Tanjung Buton Wigyo to study with KSOP and General Manager of Pelindo III, Cilacap Regency, who have good performance. Tentu saja, there are good strategies in port management that need to be imitated by example, so we can take them home,” dia berkata.
Making Tanjung Buton port an advanced public port in Indonesia, requires support, cooperation from the local government, central government, businessmen who are members of the Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association (INSA), and BMI Riau.
Tambahan, dia berkata, the Tanjung Buton Port is integrated with the Tanjung Buton Industrial area. The area of land granted by the Siak Regency government is approximately 6 hektar.
“We have hope that the Tanjung Buton port can run optimally. So that the region can develop the regional economy, it can also increase the national economy,” dia berharap.
He expressed his gratitude for the information obtained, including the rehabilitation and transformation of existing business patterns at Tanjung Buton Port.
Sementara itu, General Manager of Pelindo III Tanjung Intan Port, Cilacap, Jawa Tengah, Sutopo, expressed his gratitude for the visit of the Regent of Siak and his entourage to Tanjung Intan Port, Cilacap.
Talking about port business cannot be separated from port facilities, competent human resources, and cooperation between all parties.
“This port business, a big business requires a shared commitment, including how the government can ensure that parties who invest in this port get certainty,” dia berkata.
Such certainties include ease of investment, no changes to long-term policies, and how the government should be able to provide stimulus to companies involved in the port business.
“Tanjung Intan port has existed since 5 decades ago, this business has had its ups and downs, but is currently progressing. It even beats loading and unloading of Surabaya port,” dia menyimpulkan.
