Dutch court rejected the case that requested to reduce the age one of its citizen

News24xx.com - The Dutch court refused to grant the request of a citizen who wanted to cut his age to make him younger legally. He said that his soul is not as old as his age. Emile Ratelband, a 69-year-old, submitted to the court in the city of Arnhem to make his age would be cut off by 20 years to 49. which would change the population record in the Dutch government.

Ratelband feels unfairly registered as 69 years old. Because it makes him difficult to get a new job or apply for a loan. He also claimed that his soul is still young and healthy. "According to my biological age, I seem to be 40, 42 years old" Ratelband said as quoted by Business Insider, Tuesday, December 4th 2018.

The Arnhem court claimed that they were confused with the lawsuit filed by Ratelband. Because until now they never have a case like that, and also that kind of cases have not been discussed in the law of their country.

"Unlike the judicial process in changing names and sex, there are a number of rights and obligations attached to a certain age. Like the right to vote and enter school. If Mr. Ratelband's request is passed, then the conditions that set the age limit become meaningless" read the verdict court.

The judge stated Ratelband has the right to feel 20 years younger than his actual age. However, if it refers to the population record, the claim has an impact on the record 20 years of his life that will be lost.
