News24xx.com -  An Islamic school has become the target of a hate crime after racist vandals broke in and graffitied 'moslem is terrorists' on the walls in the Bahr Academy, in Newcastle, during the night of January 24.

The thugs also scribbled a swastika and also overturned tables inside that academy.

Pictures of the school show fire extinguishers and litter strewn on the floor. Northumbria Police said they are treating the incident as a hate crime.

Sergeant Adrian Oakes told Chronicle Live, "This type of mindless vandalism and blatant racism has no place in society and will be dealt with robustly by police. We would encourage any victims of hate crime to get in touch with police on 101 or through one of the many third-party reporting systems available online."

A fundraiser has now been set up online to try and help the academy and Madrasah recover from the attack. So far £230 has been raised of the petition’s £3,000 goal.

The Islamic institute is a non-profit centre funded and run by those who want to ‘give education and faith the attention and importance it truly deserves’.
