Frustation, Mesut Ozil threw his jacket at Everton bench

Mesut OzilMesut Ozil - Arsenal’s top-four hopes were dealt a blow as Phil Jagielka’s goal in the 10th minute secured victory for Everton.

In the 83rd minute, the tensions boiled over after Dominic Calvert-Lewin was hacked down by Shkodran Mustafi.

Everton boss Marco Silva and his coaching staff began to argue with Emery but as the Arsenal manager went to confront his opposite number, Ozil hurled his jacket towards. After Mesut Ozil threw his jacket at Everton’s coaching staff during Arsenal’s defeat at Goodison Park on Sunday, April 7 2019, Unai Emery has defended the midfielder.

The jacket landed at the feet of Emery and after the spat had cooled, play continued and Everton were able to hold out for the win.

"We need to limit our frustration and we are learning that. It was not a good result but we are in a good way, we are fourth in the table. We have a big match against Napoli in midweek and the next week against Watford is a positive game for us. We lost but we need to get back up quickly and find the next win," Emery said after the match.
