Historical royal crown owned by Germany kingdom will be auctioned next month

News24xx.com - On May 15, 2019, the upcoming auction house Christie will auction off a crown owned by the Kingdom of Germany. This crown is the creation of Russian jewelry designer, Faberge.

The crown was made in 1904 as a wedding gift for Frederick Francis IV, Grand Duke of Mecklenburg-Schwerin for his wife, Princess Alexandra of Hanover and Cumberland. Faberge's involvement was not strange because the prince's mother, Grand Duchess Anastasia Mikhailovna was a Russian nobleman and Faberge's jewelry collector.

No wonder she encouraged her son to order gifts from the Faberge studio in St. Petersburg. This crown arrived later than a month after the wedding. As detailed in the letters between Russia and the German court, Frederick reasoned that the selection of gemstones and Faberge's sketches had been lost.

The long process produced a beautiful crown. The crown is embedded with a number of aquamarine stones and diamonds on a silver frame. Faberge also gave details in the form of flowers decorated with diamonds.

The crown design affixes ribbon ties to describe true love. This is also equipped with Cupid's arrow. "This is a truly beautiful crown with nine quality aquamarines" said Max Fawcett, a jewelry specialist at the auction house.
