This is the bad effects that you will get if you eat too much dates when you breaking your fast

IllustrationIllustration - When breaking the fast, it is suggested by the Prophet to consume dates. Dates have a sugar content that is high enough to be considered able to restore energy after a day of fasting.

The other specialty of dates is that this fruit is high in calories. In 100 grams of dates or about 10 grains contains around 280 calories, besides calories, its carbohydrates is also high. But of course there is a side effect if it consumed in excess amount.

"So the dates when eaten can immediately raise blood sugar levels. If you eat too much and still eat other foods such as compote, ice fruit, now that will cause a buildup of carbohydrates" said Diet Nutrition at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Triyani Kresnawan, DCN , MKes, RD, on Friday, May 10th 2019.

Triyani added, the type of wet and dry dates is the same. Unlike the green dates, the calories are rather small because they don't taste sweet. "When eating dates too much, there will be a lot of carbohydrate buildup that can make trigeliserin or fats in the body increases" she said.
