(ilustration)(ilustration) -

For some Riau people, including Pekaitan Village in Rokan Hilir (Rohil), the appearance of a Sumatran tiger is interpreted differently. Some say as a sign, bad luck and so on.

That was witnessed directly by the Head of the Region II Region of the Riau Natural Resources Conservation Center (BBKSDA), Heru Sukmantoro when he got a citizen report.

One of the residents of Pekaitan Tarmizi Village saw a tiger crossing in front of him Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 23:00 WIB then the tiger moved away towards the bush.

According to his testimony, the villagers interpreted the appearance of a tiger as a warning when he saw the protected animal.

"According to villagers (Pekaitan) the emergence of the Sumatran Tiger is believed to be a warning to residents," Heru said, Thursday, September 5, 2019.
Reprimand is so that people do not do bad deeds, despicable and forbidden by religion. In addition, tiger sightings are also interpreted as signs and omens for the community.

"Aside from that as a sign. Hopefully nothing untoward happens in the village," he said.
