Bawaslu Inhil Evaluates Simultaneous Election and Election Results

Rakor Panwaslu InhilRakor Panwaslu Inhil - The Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) of Indragiri Hilir Regency held a Coordination Meeting (Coordination Meeting) related to the evaluation of supervision of the 2019 Election and Election stages, Tuesday, November 19, 2019.

One speaker who was presented, Member of the Riau Bawaslu Commissioner, Hasan MSi, in his presentation mentioned the success of the simultaneous local elections and elections in Inhil in 2019 was the collaboration of all parties. "From the results of innovation in the form of supervision, Bawaslu Riau Province got the best 1 on the Bawaslu RI award," he said.

He added, although in 2020 Inhil Regency will not hold simultaneous local elections, at least Inhil's success in the 2018 elections can be in the example of other districts.

"Bawaslu and KPU Inhil, in 2020 will be relaxed because there are no Pilkada. But there is another work, namely oversight and socialization related to the elections and elections so that the level of public participation will be higher in the next Pilkada," he added.
Meanwhile, Chairperson of Bawaslu Inhil, M. Dong said that the efficiency of the simultaneous elections according to the initial objectives did not achieve satisfactory results. "There is a discourse to separate the implementation of the election again but it will be decided by the authorities, namely the Indonesian Parliament," he said.

According to M Dong, public participation related to money politics is still lacking in the Regency, even during the 2019 Election there were no reports from the public at all.

However, in the 2019 elections simultaneously the level of voter participation rose to 73 percent, while in 2014 it did not reach 70 percent.

"In addition, there are also no KPU and Bawaslu Inhil officials who are considered to have violated the code of ethics, but there are some notes whether it has been fair and democratic the stages that have been carried out so far," he said.
