This was due to the presence of foreign ships that reportedly entered the Natuna waters.

This tension subsided when President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited Natuna on Wednesday (08 January 2020).

Now, it is rumored that Indonesia has opened up opportunities for cooperation with China.

The plan, Indonesia will cooperate with China related to the management of Natuna.

This was stated by the Presidential Chief of Staff, Moeldoko.

Reporting from Kompas.com, Moeldoko also said, Indonesia opened up opportunities for cooperation with all countries, including China.

He said, currently Indonesia is working with oil companies from the United States (US).

As well as Exxon Mobile to manage oil resources in Natuna.

He added, cooperation in the Natuna Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) had already been arranged in the 1982 United Nations Convention of the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

Moeldoko explained, until now there has been no discussion between the Indonesian government and China.

The discussion was related to the news of cooperation in the management of Natural Resources (SDA) at Natuna ZEE.

Meanwhile, Tribunnews reported earlier, Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) invited the Indonesian people to move to protect Natuna.

Through the Indonesian Defending Action together with Jaga Natuna, ACT will distribute logistics in the form of staple food to the Natuna community and the TNI who are on duty there.
