Former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Imam Nahrowi, was charged with having received a bribe worth IDR 11.5 billion in the case of channeling financing with a government assistance scheme through the Ministry of Youth and Sports at KONI 2018 Fiscal Year.

The indictment was read out by the KPK's Public Prosecutor, Ronald Ferdinand Worotikan, in a corruption crime trial at the Central Jakarta District Court, Jakarta, Friday (14/2), as reported by CNN Indonesia.

"Having committed or participated in a number of acts which have a relationship in such a way that they are seen as continuing actions to have received a gift or a promise," said KPK Prosecutor Ferdinand.

Both were suspected of receiving money from former KONI Secretary General Ending Fuad Hamidy and former KONI General Treasurer Jhonny E Awuy.

It is estimated that the bribe was related to the process of accelerating grant funds from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

In this case, Imam and his wife received money from Ending relating to the KONI Support Proposal in the context of Supervision and Assistance for Selection of Prospective Athletes and Achievement Athletes in 2018.

Regarding the 2018 Asian Games and Asian Para Games grants, the Prosecutor said that the Chairman of the KONI Center, Tono Suratman, submitted a proposal for a fund of around IDR. 51.6 billion. However, in the end it was disbursed with a value of IDR 30 billion.

Prosecutors said there was a commitment fee agreement ranging from 15-19 percent of the total value of grant assistance received by the KONI Center.

"The prize is given to accelerate the approval and disbursement of grant aid submitted by the central KONI to the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Youth and Sport activities in 2018 which contradicts the defendant's obligations," the Prosecutor said.

Meanwhile, he was charged with receiving gratuities worth IDR 8.64 billion.

The money was obtained from the Secretary General of KONI IDR. 300 million; IDR 4.94 billion as additional money for Menpora operations.

In addition, IDR 2 billion was used as payment for the design services of the Architecs Office Architecs Consultant from Lina Nurhasanah as the Treasurer of the Indonesian Gold (Prima) Program for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Then, IDR 1 billion from Edward Taufan Pandjaitan alias Ucok as the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) in the Satlak Prima Kemenpora RI Budget Year 2016-2017 program was sourced from Satlak Prima budget money.

Also, IDR 400 million from Supriyono as BPP for the Improvement of National Sports Achievement (PPON) for the 2017-2018 period came from the KONI Central loan.

In this case, Imam was charged with using two alternative articles related to corruption.

He is believed to have violated the provisions in Article 12 letter a jo Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st KUHP jo Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code.

And Article 12 B Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 Paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code jo Article 65 Paragraph (1) ) Criminal Code.
