Russian virologist told that coronavirus will come forever

News24xx.com - Virologist, academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vitaliy Zverev said that the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus came to the human population forever.

“You need to understand that this virus didn’t come to the human population for today, not until the summer, not until the autumn. He came for many, many years, maybe even forever”, - he said. 

Zverev believes that COVID-19 will recover from up to 70% of the world's population.

The virologist added that with a mass test of Russians for the virus, the number of infected would be greater, but mortality could decrease. In addition, he rejected data on 5% mortality from coronavirus, saying that it is "less than with the flu." According to him, despite the low spread of influenza in the United States, more Americans died from this virus than from coronavirus.

On April 3, Aleksey Mazus, chief specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection, evaluated the effectiveness of vaccination against tuberculosis in the fight against coronavirus. 

He suggested that the prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in Russia may be lower than in European countries because the population is vaccinated against tuberculosis.

As of April 4, in the world more than 1 million 66 thousand infected with coronavirus. Of these, about 56 000 died, another 223 000 people recovered. The anti-leaders of the rating are the USA, Spain, Italy and Germany.
