News24xx.com - One of the sad love stories of world figures began their journey about more than two centuries ago. A French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte with Josephine.

Napoleon and Josephine were married on March 9, 1796. Although their marriage did not end beautifully, but his first wife was called the true love in Napoleon's life.

That said, the last name that Napoleon called before he breathed his last was, "Josephine". Josephine is the name that Napoleon used to call his wife, who was born with the name Marie Josephe Rose Tascher de La Pagerie. She is the daughter of a nobleman who is fond of gambling.

Josaphine's story of being the Queen of France, began when 32-year-old Josephine met 26-year-old Napoleon in 1975 at a party hosted by Paul Barras, mentor and de facto Governor of France.

Previously, he was married to an aristocrat named Alexander de Beauharnais and had a son and daughter. But his marriage ended in 1794 because Alexander was arrested for treason and Josephine was thrown into prison.

Alexander was executed, but Josephine managed to escape and became a lover of Paul Barras. But when Josephine and Napoleon met, Paul Barras wanted to break up with his girlfriend, thus encouraging Napoleon to establish love with Josephine.

At that time, Napoleon was only an officer. He was looking for an older and more modern woman because he believed he would be more accepted in the community, while Josephine was also aware that her lover would be removed. Finally they are interconnected and having an affair.

Napoleon proposed Josephine in January 1796 and sent him many love letters that were very romantic, and 'passionate'. But he was upset because his girlfriend didn't reply to his letters as often as he sent them.

At this stage, Napoleon was an emperor in most of Europe. And a few days after marrying his girlfriend, Napoleon was forced to leave him in Paris because he had to fight against Italian and Austrian troops.

Every day Napoleon sent him letters, but some of them were ignored by his wife. Even when her husband was at war, Josephine turned to another man. Napoleon who found out, finally responded by doing the same thing. He had an affair with the wife of an officer while in Egypt, named Pauline or known as 'Cleopatra' Napoleon. Nevertheless, Napoleon still loved his wife, even as Josephine was increasingly lazy to reply to his letters.

In 1798, Napoleon led 35 thousand troops to fight Egypt and in October a year later, he was assigned to lead a government with limited power. During that time, Napoleon managed to take control of France and Italy after defeating Austria.

Both are said to still love each other, but the need for heirs is more important than that feeling. They remained in good relations and Napoleon allowed him to hold the title of Queen.

Napoleon eventually married Franz I's grandson from Austria, Marie Louise. From that marriage, a son named Napoleon II was born.

While Josephine moved to his private residence in Malmaison, near Paris. There he continued to live in luxury and still be on good terms. In fact, his life was still financed by Napoleon. But at the age of 51, Josephine died of pneumonia on May 29, 1814. While Napoleon died seven years later as a British prisoner on Saint Helena Island in the Atlantic Ocean
