Takbiran, Idulfitri Prayer and Open House were abolished by Pekanbaru Mayor due to Corona Virus Pandemic

News24xx.com - Pekanbaru City Government forbid takbiran, Eid prayers due to the corona virus pandemic this year. In fact, the mayor of Pekanbaru had to negate the open house because of a ban on gathering.

"The atmosphere of Idulfitri is much different this year. People are currently in a state of emergency corona virus pandemic," Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus said, Saturday (05/23/2020).

Because there was a ban on gathering in large numbers, the Open House was abolished. Paradise prefers to gather with family.

"I pray Idulfitri at home. I also invite people to pray at home at home," Firdaus said.

As directed by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), the corona pandemic red zone is prohibited from holding Eid prayers. For this reason, Pekanbaru residents are asked to offer Eid prayers at home.

"I also ask the public to remain happy entering Shawwal. I also invite the community to pray for blessing during the month of Ramadan," pleaded Firdaus.
