The Siak Regent : We must keep the communities to have Eid Al-Fitr prayer at home

News24xx.com -  With full of emotion, the Regent of Siak District Alfedri explained the condition of Koto Gasib residents while facing the Covid-19 Pandemic. 

The residents were asked to carry out their religious routines  at home, including the Muslim prayer for Eid-Al Fit which is expected to fall this Sunday.

"When I listened the call to prayer, I cried because it's longing to pray in congregation at the mosque. But at this time, it was impossible activity for me to come to mosque, to avoid the spread of the Covid 19 pandemic," Alfedri said when he handed over the basic food aid to residents of Koto Gasib sub-district. 

Through this opportunity Alfedri also appealed to all components of the community, to comply with the government's appeals and prohibitions regarding the handling of Covid 19 in Siak district.

"This is not only the responsibility of the government, medical team, police and military but the handling of this epidemic, it is also our responsibility. And it needs the support of all components including the community," he urged.

He also emphasized to all members of the community to carry out Eid  Al Fit at home, not at the mosque for the sake of breaking the Covid 19 chain.

"We urge people to pray Eid just at home. We do not mean forbidding the community to worship at the mosque, but this is purely our efforts to save our lives and avoid the citizens exposed to the plague of Covid 19."

"We are also sad to see the medical team working during all day to take care of residents who were infected by Covid-19. Of course they are also susceptible to contracting this virus, and the medical staff also have children and families, and they want  to gathering with their families too. So, please obey the government's appeal, "he stressed.

On this occasion he also answered various community questions about "Siak Regency is a minimal case, why is it still in PSBB" ?.

Compared to other regions, the number of victims of positive of Covid-19 was indeed small. But because Siak Regency is in the middle of the Red Zone districts (Kampar, Pekanbaru, Pelalawan, Bengkalis and Dumai), so this condition requires the PSBB act in the Siak Regency.

Therefore, Alfedri added, the community and all of us in Siak Regency, although disciplined to maintain and act in order to break the chain of the carona virus with one way to obey health protocols such as physical distancing, leave the house wearing a mask, if not important, don't leave the house and keep the environment clean.

The Regent would like to thank and give appreciation to all parties, especially the private sector who have jointly demonstrated their concern in order to reduce the burden on the people affected by Covid 19.

Meanwhile, RAPP Management Syamsuria said, the basic food aid was a commitment of PT RAPP to help citizens who had a global impact Covid 19.

"Today we came to help Sembako, with this assistance we hope to ease the burden on residents affected by Covid 19," he said.

At least 175 food packages, which will be given to residents in four villages in the Koto Gasib sub-district. The four villages are located in PT RAPP's operational area, which is the port area.

In general, today PT RAPP will distribute food packages in four districts of Dayun, Gasib, Lubuk Dalam, Sungai Apit with a total of 1,200 food packages for 6 districts. (Advertorial)
