Majlis Ulama Indonesia (MUI) of Riau Province supports the application of the new normal or the new normal order in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, this new normal policy is aimed at normalizing people's lives by opening malls, markets and so on.

"The application of new normal for 4 provinces, 25 regencies and cities in Indonesia means 6 regencies and cities in Riau during the 19th pandemic. But the conditions he said, he asked the government to also open the mosque for regular worship activities, congregational prayers, Friday prayers, and other activities by maintaining health protocols.

"The condition is that the mosque be reopened. So come on, we will open the mosque again in the new normal era, with a health protocol," he exclaimed.

Separately the Head of the Riau Province Regional Religion Ministry (Kakanwil) Mahyudin supports the central government's policy of applying the concept of 'New Normal' or new normal activities living side by side with the corona virus or Covid-19.

But related to the opening of places of worship such as mosques, he said that his party was awaiting regulation or circular from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia.

"Regarding the mosque, we are waiting for the policy from the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. The information we get is in the process of making regulations such as Circular," he said.
