Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Papua Shot 2 COVID-19 Medical Staffs on Duty

News24xx.com - The persecution and firing of medical personnel in Intan Jaya, Papua, by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic some time ago sparked profound sadness and concern.

Lentera Huma Berhati, a community development that focuses on social, economic, educational, and community assistance issues through a participatory rural appraisal (PRA) approach, said what the KKB was doing was counterproductive to their struggle.

"Whatever the reason, this cruelty has undermined the dignity of humanity in fact they are fighting for the safety of Papua," said Huma Berhati's Lantern Coordinator, Khairul Anam, Thursday (28 May 2020).

He considered that the KKB was essentially a separatist group and the reason that the KKB wanted to separate themselves from the Republic of Indonesia because of social injustice and human rights violations committed by the TNI as mere bullshit.

As of 2009, there have been many victims of the KKB massacre, started firing against workers building public facilities in Papua, shooting in the Freeport Indonesia Company environment, and a number of other cases.

Moreover, the purpose of the KKB was clear, namely to separate from the Unitary Republic of Indonesia which had been organized as a military action. Thus, the KKB can be categorized as an armed uprising and meet the requirements called combatants which must be crushed militarily.

"Thus, the KKB must be eliminated from Bumi Cenderawasih because they have threatened the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

It is known, the shooting incident occurred in the Wandai District area, last Friday (22 May 2020). At least two medical personnel from the Front Group for the Acceleration of Countermeasure for COVID-19 Intan Jaya, Papua were tortured and shot by the KKB while carrying out their duties.
