The wife of Derek Chauvin, a cop who was murdering George Floyd, filed for divorce

News24xx.com - Derek Chauvin is a cop who murdering George Floyd on Monday, after  Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's neck. And on Friday, Chauvin was arrested and charged.

Now, the wife of arrested ex-cop of Derek Chauvin is filing for divorce, according to a statement from a family law firm.

An attorney for wife Chauvin, Kellie Chauvin released the statement on the divorce request.

“Kellie is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her sympathy for his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin,” Sekula Law Offices said in the statement.

Kellie Chauvin, through the lawyers, asked for her family’s safety.

“While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time.”

Floyd, 46, was handcuffed and repeatedly yelled, “I can’t breathe,” while Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's neck.

Three other officers were involved in Floyd’s death but have not yet been charged with any crimes. All four cops were fired Tuesday.

Floyd’s death, captured on video, has led to national outrage and protests against police brutality.
