News24xx.com - A St. Louis man protesting police brutality and the killing of George Floyd died after being run over by a FedEx truck early Saturday morning, authorities said. The truck had been stopped during the demonstrations in St. Louis, local NBC affiliate KSDK reported. Several protesters approached the vehicle while it was stopped.

Police say two men showed the driver that they were carrying guns, according to KSDK. The driver then attempted to speed off. Cops said the unidentified man was trapped between trailers, KSDK reported. He was then pulled underneath before the driver realized he was there.

Video of the incident was posted to Facebook, though the man cannot be seen, other protesters can be heard screaming.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of a tragic situation involving a demonstrator in St. Louis and one of our vehicles,” FedEx said in a statement provided to KSDK. We offer our sincerest condolences to the family of the individual involved.”

There were two other fatal incidents at protests Friday night. In Detroit, a 19-year-old man was fatally shot, and witnesses reported that a car had driven by a crowd and fired randomly.

And in Oakland, Calif., a federal agent was killed and another wounded. The next day, officials called the incident “domestic terrorism” and said the agents were “watching over” the protests, local ABC affiliate KGO reported.
