News24xx.com - A Philadelphia man was killed by explosives Tuesday morning during a crime spree that left several ATMs blown up.

The unidentified 24-year-old was attempting to destroy a cash machine outside Sidekicks Sports Bar when the blast took his life, according to CBS News. He did not succeed in penetrating that machine’s safe. More than a dozen ATMs were reportedly “blown up” during the late night chaos.

Police found live explosives at the crime scene, where the victim was badly injured. He soon after succumbed to his wounds in a Philly hospital. That man was reportedly mixed in with groups of vandals who have been moving quickly throughout the city, looting shops and withdrawing cash from teller machines forcefully.

Rebecca Rosario told that she and her dog Rusty awoke to a “loud boom” Monday night after someone apparently blasted open a cash machine.

“I came outside and someone had just blown up the ATM machine,” she said.

Looting and destruction in the City of Brotherly Love also reportedly included a 15-hour raid on a ShopRite store, where intruders shopped freely from the pharmacy and liquor department in addition to going through a cash register.

Both riots and peaceful protests have been prominent throughout the nation since black Minneapolis man George Floyd died begging for air while a white a police officer knelt on his neck in broad daylight with passersby watching and filming.
