But did you know such facts: Many connoisseurs of this drink claim that in order for us not to feel bitterness in coffee, it is necessary to add salt, not sugar, to the cup. And if the coffee variety of your choice is especially bitter, then adding a small pinch of sodium chloride will help to achieve the desired taste and aroma.

All this sounds certainly ridiculous, but this statement has been scientifically proven. A study by the scientific journal Nature found that sodium chloride ions suppress bitterness and improve taste.

Surprisingly, the same goes for wine. Wine experts say adding a small amount of salt to a glass can improve the taste of cheaper wines.
