He said, last month (May 2020, red) the electricity bill was Rp.390,000 and April was Rp374,000. But in June the bill increased sharply to Rp650,000.

"Even though daily use is the same, there have been no changes at all, even in the previous months too," Ira said questioningly.

The sharp increase in electricity payments undoubtedly made Ira dizzy, especially in the midst of the Corona Virus Pandemic which more or less reduced her husband's income, which was the backbone of the family.

"We hope that PLN will make it easier for the community at the time of the Covid Pandemic-19, not the opposite. On the other hand, the government is trying hard to ease the burden on the affected citizens, love assistance, groceries and others," regrets the mother of two children.

Riau1.com tried to compare, whether the increase in electricity bill costs was only experienced by Ira's family. It turns out, the surge in costs was also experienced by other residents in the city of Pekanbaru, some even rose to almost 200 percent.

PLN Public Relations Manager Wilah Riau - Riau Islands, Tajuddin who was contacted Riau1.com explained, if the customer bill is not appropriate or improperly it asks residents to contact 123 call center (0761-).

"Or you can come directly to the nearest PLN rayon with a photo of a stand meter, the problem will be checked later, if there is an error, it can be corrected, but if the use is high, of course there is a solution according to central regulations," he said briefly.

To note, PLN released a scheme of calculating household customer bills whose electricity bills jumped in June. Under this scheme, customers who experienced bills in June jumped more than 20 percent compared to May due to billing using an average of the last three months, then the increase will be paid by 40 percent, and the remainder is divided equally in bills in the next three months.

But in reality, the scheme is not the case, where there are residents who have increased payments up to 100-200 percent in June 2020.
