Only Because of Birds, This Couple Persecute their Underage Maid

The act of a married couple (couples) in Pakistan is very inhumane. They have the heart to persecute their maids (PRT) who were only 7 years old to death. Both have now been arrested by the police to take responsibility for their actions.

Hassan Siddiqui and his wife employed the little girl Zohra Bibi in their home in the middle-class suburb of Rawalpindi, near Islamabad. Zohra Bibi, 7, was employed to care for the couple's son, who was also 7 years old.

"The poor girl was subjected to torture by Siddiqui and his wife who accused her of freeing one of four Macao parrots," investigative officer Mukhtar Ahmad told AFP reported on Friday (05/06/2020).

"Siddiqui kicked her in the lower abdomen which proved fatal," he said.

Zohra was taken to hospital by the couple on Sunday. However, she was pronounced dead the next day. The incident was reported to the police by hospital staff.

The body of the little girl was handed over to her parents, who lived in Muzaffargarh, near the city of Multan, more than 500 kilometers (300 miles) from where the victim worked.

Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari confirmed the couple's arrest in a tweet and said his ministry had contacted police.

"Violence and physical abuse of children will not be tolerated and all those involved in such incidents will be dealt with," said local city police chief Muhammad Ahsan Younus.

Domestic workers often face exploitation, violence and sexual harassment, with Pakistan's patriarchal and rigid social class structure leaving them silent.

Children are very vulnerable, and the Zohra Bibi case is the latest in a growing number of incidents involving minors. ****
