Protests continued over police brutality when several cities in the United States held a memorial in honor of George Floyd, an unarmed black man killed by police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 25.

Twitter removed the video of US President Donald Trump's campaign tribute to George Floyd on his platform, citing copyright complaints.

Rights groups in the US have sued the Trump administration, claiming officials violated the civil rights of the protesters when they moved peaceful protesters outside the White House earlier this week.

The mayor of Washington, DC called for withdrawal from the city of military units sent from other countries to deal with protesters. He also changed the name of part of the road near the White House so that it is now called "Black Lives Matter Plaza".
