Not in the Green Zone, Mayor: Pekanbaru is not safe yet!

PEKANBARU - Pekanbaru City Government has given concessions for residents to worship in houses of worship since May 29 last. In fact, the city of Pekanbaru is still in the yellow zone of the corona virus pandemic during the New Normal or new life order.

Pekanbaru Mayor Firdaus after receiving 1.5 tons of rice from the Riau Financial Services Authority (OJK) in the Public Service Mall (MPP) page, on Friday (05/06/2020) yesterday, said that his party had provided concessions for worship at the house of worship during the period New Normal. This applies to all religions.

"However, we have said that we are still living in a corona virus pandemic. Pekanbaru is not safe from a corona virus pandemic," he said.

Therefore, Pekanbaru residents must always be vigilant to protect themselves, their families and the community in order to avoid corona virus transmission. Termination of the corona virus chain remains a major concern for the Pekanbaru City Government.

"So, we must be disciplined in applying health protocols such as wearing masks when leaving the house, on trips by public transportation, especially in public places. Avoid in crowded places," said Firdaus.

Pekanbaru residents are also advised to always wash their hands with soap in running water. Items around so as not to be touched.

"Inside the Trans Metro Pekanbaru bus, sit in the seats allowed. Inside the TMP bus, there is a disinfectant liquid sprayed automatically that we install on the inside of the bus roof," Firdaus said.

Wherever they are, Pekanbaru residents must remain in compliance with the health protocol. Because, Pekanbaru is not yet a green zone.

"Pekanbaru is still in the yellow zone of the corona," Firdaus said.
