News24xx.com - A total of 293 wood workers from Sambas, West Kalimantan, were detained in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands (Riau Islands). The wood worker wanted to return to his hometown from Riau Province, but was arrested because there was no scheduled boat to depart for Sambas.

"We have 293 people who want to go back to the village in Sambas," said Iwan as the person in charge of workers from Sambas in Tanjungpinang, Saturday (6/6/2020). The workers arrived in Tanjung Pinang on Friday (5/6/2020).

They are currently forced to stay overnight in a shop on Jalan Sultan Mahmud, Bukit Bestari District, Tanjungpinang waiting for the departure schedule of the PT Pelni ship to Sambas. "When we leave, we wait for the ship's schedule," said Iwan.

In addition, they are also required to conduct a Rapid Test before leaving to find out if anyone has been exposed to Covid-19.

"Before coming here (Tanjungpinang) they had already undergone a Rapid Test, wanting to leave must establish another Rapid Test," said Iwan.

"The Tanjugpinang Health Office has also come to check on them," concluded Iwan.
