News24xx.com - A beautiful moment recorded. Thousands of green turtles are seen approaching the world's largest green turtle breeding site on Raine Island on the edge of Australia's Great Barrier Reef.

Scientists from Queensland's Department of Environment and Government Science (DES) revealed about 64,000 turtles swimming around the island. The land to lay eggs.

The endangered green turtles are mostly found in tropical and subtropical waters and migrate long distances between eating places and the beach where they appear as hatchlings, about 35 years after they were born.

"We are somewhat aware that despite this massive aggregation, reproduction actually does not work well," said Dr. Andrew Dunstan, from DES, said.

He explained that his team noticed turtles falling from cliffs, trapped in heat, and suffering from flooding in their nests. After implementing a series of interventions to help struggling turtles, scientists then try to track populations.

The researchers initially painted the turtle's skin with white lines of non-toxic paint as they gathered on the beach and waited for them to return to the water.

However, when they try to count the sea turtles from the ship, they realize that the results are always biased. They then decided to use a drone to film the creature for better accuracy.

With this new way of tracking populations, the researchers hope that in the future, they will be able to automate the calculation of video recordings using artificial intelligence.
