News24xx.com - The panel of judges at the Bengkalis District Court were acquitted Malaysian fishermen, namely Heng Wah Wat (49), a skipper, Tan Chong Pin (61) and Sin Kue (56) as Ship's Men.

The verdict of the panel of judges was read at an online session, Tuesday, June 23, 2020 led by Rudi Ananta Wijaya, SH, MH, witnessed by the Prosecutor General of Bengkalis with consideration and facts during the trial, namely the expert witness' statement that the defendant did not violate the Indonesian Exclusive Economic Zone area as stated in the indictment single alleged.

Previously, on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, in the waters of Muntai Village, Bantan District, Bengkalis Regency, three Malaysian fishermen were fishing, reported by the community and then secured by the Bengkalis Resort Water Police Unit.

In addition to the suspects, officers also secured a unit of ship with the hull number JHF 2465 B, a foreign flag, along with evidence, trawlers and various types of fish catches of around 150 kilograms, 5 kilograms of shrimp and 5 kilograms of cuttlefish.
