Finally, the Electric Plane First Received Permission to Operation

News24xx.com - The aircraft with an electric motor has successfully passed the certification of the European Aviation Safety Agency.  This is a Velis Electro - twin-seat aircraft manufactured by Pipistrel in Slovenia. They plan to use it to train pilots.

This is the first aircraft with an electric motor that has received permission to operate, according to the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

And it certainly will not be the last aircraft of this type, agency director Patrick Key believes. In this, he is supported by the founder and CEO of Pipistrel Ivo Boscarol:

“Velis Electro certification is the first step to the commercial use of electric aircraft, to emissions-free aviation. The electric plane doesn’t produce flue gases at all. In addition, it is much quieter than other aircraft. The fact that Velis Electro gained access to operation will become an incentive for other developers of such devices”.

The two-seater aircraft will be used to train pilots.
