Edwar said the location of the burned area was around the Sinarmas Group's industrial timber plantation (HTI) concessions. At present, his office is trying to do a blackout process.

Edwar said the location of the burned area was quite extensive. Therefore, blackouts are difficult. However, he stressed that his side was still trying to extinguish the fire so it would not spread.

Moreover, Edwar said, the burned area was peatland. This condition makes it difficult to do blackouts because embers also burn in the bowels of the earth.

"We try to handle it optimally. And the location of this fire is still at the same point last year," said Edwar.
