Reporting from the South China Morning Post, Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Hong Xiaoyong delivered the latest attack accusing US Defense Secretary Mark Esper of triggering tensions by calling China a threat.

Hong also accused the US defense minister of trying to cause friction between the main forces and increase tension in the region.

That is a new chapter in the blame game between Beijing and Washington when the two countries face each other in various fields.
