A Powerful Explosion Occurred at a Health Center in Iran, 19 People were Killed

News24xx.com - A huge explosion occurred at a clinic in northern Tehran, Iran. At least 19 people died.

State television reported the explosion occurred at the Sina At'har health center on Tuesday (30/6) evening local time. The explosion also caused damage to surrounding buildings. Black clouds of smoke rose high.

"An explosion was reported at 20:56 followed by a fire at the Sina At'har clinic. Medical units were dispatched immediately," Tehran's emergency medical services said in a statement as reported by the AFP news agency on Wednesday (1 July 2020).

State television said that the fifteen people killed were women.

In a TV interview, Maleki said the explosion occurred when a gas cylinder caught fire in the clinic's basement.
