News24xx.com - The United States decided to end the export of weapons or sensitive defense equipment to Hong Kong. The move further increases Washington DC's successive pressure on China's autonomous region which is also one of the global financial centers.

The United States announced the decision hours after China said it would restrict visas to some Americans traveling to Hong Kong. Beijing's policy itself is actually in response to US steps which also restrict visas for Chinese officials traveling in the land of Uncle Sam.

The US State Department last year agreed to sell defense equipment to Hong Kong for the US $ 2.4 million. A total of 1.4 million US dollars has been realized, including weapons including ammunition for law enforcement purposes in Hong Kong.

The US Commerce Department also said at the same time they were revoking special status for Hong Kong. From now on, the agency will treat the former British colony the same as China in the procurement of defense and security equipment for the military and civilians. So far, America has indeed severely limited the sale of such devices when sought by Beijing.
