Eating Wedding Dishes, 86 Residents of Nagrak Sukabumi were Poisoning

News24xx.com - As many as 85 people were poisoned after eating a meal at an event in Selaawi Village, Paweunang Village, Nagrak District, Sukabumi Regency.

Information provided by the Nagrak Sub-District Head, Heri Sukarno, of the 86 residents, some of whom had been repatriated, had been referred and received medical treatment at the local health center.

"Until last night the number of victims has reached 86 people. At present, 8 patients were immediately referred to the Sekarwangi Regional Hospital, 64 people have been discharged and 14 residents are still undergoing treatment at the Nagrak Health Center," Heri told reporters on Wednesday (08 July 2020).

Heri said that until now related to the exact cause of poisoning was still under investigation.

"For the exact cause is still awaiting the results of the investigation. It's just that, a temporary allegation was indeed suspected after eating a meal at an event," continued Heri.

Head of the Disease Prevention and Control (P2P) Division of Sukabumi District Health Office, Andi Rahman, said that his office had taken food samples that were suspected to have caused the incident.

Contacted separately, Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP M Lukman Syarif confirmed the incident. He has ordered his members to investigate.

The victim, called Lukman, had previously consumed food after the wedding celebration.

"It is suspected that after consuming food at the thanksgiving event, it is still suspected to need an in-depth investigation. Members have already investigated on location," he concluded.
