News24xx.com - In order to increase the level of public consumption of fish-sourced foodstuffs to prevent stunting and also maintain body immunity in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Forum Eating Fish Siak Regency in collaboration with PT BSP held training on local fish-based food processing which was held in two districts , namely Tualang and Mandau River.

In the training, enthusiastic participants in the two sub-districts participated in the training. It was shown from the active participants threw questions to the guest speaker or chef as well as in the activity.

One of the participants, Chairperson of the Family Welfare Empowerment Village of Perawang Barat Indriawati, said that this fish cooking training was very beneficial for her and the mothers of other activity participants. According to him after attending the training, the Head of Village Family Welfare Empowerment can then share knowledge with all the mothers in their respective villages.

"We are very pleased with this fish processing training. Many new things we have obtained and we will share with pregnant women and toddlers," he said.

Chef Fitra Nugraha, who was a guest speaker, during a cooking demonstration explained that the main principle in cooking is the spirit to always make delicious and healthy dishes.

He also explained the recipe for Tuna steak with chili sauce, Sop Tenggiri Belimbing Wuluh, Dim Sum Hakaw Tenggiri and catfish porridge for toddlers to the participants, which were his own creations. He explained, the menu made from fish food will still taste delicious and delicious without reducing the nutritional content, if processed in the right way and healthy.

"To process fish, don't overcook or over cook, because it can eliminate omega 3 and other nutrients," he said.
 
The four menus, he said, can use fish and other ingredients that are easily available. Chef Fitra also uses dried ebi that has been mashed to replace food seasoning.

"Hopefully this fish cooking training can provide inspiration for mothers in preparing special menus for families and especially for pregnant mothers and toddlers, so that their children avoid stunting" he hoped.

The former chef of restaurants in Bali, Lombok and Surabaya said that the cooking method he displayed was by steaming and boiling. In addition, he also showed how to cut the onion tips so as not to affect the quality of the taste of the dishes made.

Chairman of the Siak Regency's Fish Eating Forum, Rasidah Alfedri added, the fish cooking cooking activity was carried out in the context of stunting prevention in Siak Regency. The goal, he said, was to add insight to participants. As is known, continued Rasidah, good nutritional content in fish will be very beneficial for children's growth and development, especially able to increase brain intelligence in children.

"I hope, the children of Siak Regency are always healthy, smart and able to compete with other regions, but the most important thing can be prevented from stunting," he said.

According to him, this activity is very important because it supports government programs in order to prevent stunting through cooking training or processing food made from local fish.
