“Killing Floor 2,” “Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition,” and “The Escapists 2” is free to download until Thursday, July 16 at 11:00 a.m. ET/8:00 a.m. PT, notes Video Games Chronicle.

Developed and published by Tripwire Interactive, in “Killing Floor 2,” players descend into continental Europe after it has been overrun by horrific, murderous clones called Zeds that were created by rogue elements of the Horzine Corporation. While seeking life on a distant planet, an astronaut discovers an abandoned Russian town in “Lifeless Planet: Premier Edition.” This puzzle-platformer game developed by Stage 2 Studios and published by Serenity Forge was first released in 2014. It follows the protagonist as he explores the planet, figures out how the Soviets managed to travel to the planet and why the outpost is now empty, and why the planet is devoid of life.

“The Escapists 2” is a strategy role-playing game developed by Mouldy Toof Studios and published by Team17 when it was first released in 2017. Players take control of an inmate who must follow daily routines in the prison. At the same time, the prisoner must complete quests for fellow inmates and seek out opportunities to escape.

Following these three games next week, “Torchlight 2” will be free to download from July 16-23. This game was developed by Runic Games and published by Perfect World Entertainment.

Video Games Chronicle reports that the Epic Games Store recently hit 61 million monthly active users on PC thanks to a promotional campaign called The Vault, which saw it give away a series of high-profile free games including “Grand Theft Auto V,” “Borderlands: The Handsome Collection,” and “Civilization 6” between May 14 and June 18.

Launching alongside the storefront in December 2018, Epic Games Store’s free games promotion will run for the remainder of 2020. Epic CEO Tim Sweeney recently claimed it has caused sales to increase for developers who participate in the scheme.
