News24xx.com - Four Pakistan soldiers were killed in clashes with militants. The clash took place in the northwest, near the border with Afghanistan.

Reporting from AFP on Sunday (12 July 2020), the incident occurred in the City of Miranshah, the capital of North Waziristan District, where several military operations have been launched in recent years against local and foreign militant groups. The latest clashes occurred when security forces carried out operations in hiding militant groups in the area.

The army said during the shootout, "four soldiers said the shahada" or died as a martyr. Information from the military added that four "terrorists" were also killed in the clash.

Pakistan has been fighting a rebellion at home for more than a decade. Thousands of civilians and security personnel have died in extremist attacks.

Violence in Pakistan has diminished since the military offensive in the region, but militant groups can still carry out isolated attacks. The area is also known for the availability of cheap weapons, drugs, and contraband.
