A Terrorist from Sukoharjo Successfully Arrested With 2 Gunshot Wounds

News24xx.com - Suspected young terrorists from Sukoharjo, Muhammad Jihad Ikhsan (22) died a day after being captured by Detachment 88. There were two gunshot wounds to his body.

Ikhsan was arrested on Friday (10 July) around 01.30 pm, after returning from Friday prayers. At that time Ikhsan cycled from a mosque in the Cemani Village area.

In the evening, officers went to Ikhsan's rented house and his family in Ngruki, Cemani, Sukoharjo. In addition to announcing Ikhsan's arrest, the police also conducted a search.

On Saturday (11 July) the night after, officers returned to Ikhsan's house. This time they preach Ikhsan's death.

Head of Cemani Village, Hadi Indrianto, confirmed that Ikhsan had died on Saturday (11 July) evening. After Isha, he preached it to the family.

Although visited by officers, Kemis, Ikhsan's father, claimed not to get an explanation related to the cause of his son's death. He only heard the news of the shooting.

"I heard that I was shot. I don't want to know what's wrong with being shot to death? What do you get shot at?" said Kemis when contacted by AFP on Sunday (12 July 2020).

Kemis then took care of the repatriation of the remains at RSUP Dr. Kariadi Semarang. Before being treated at Kariadi, Ikhsan was briefly treated at Bhayangkara Hospital.

The Secretary of the Islamic Study and Action Center (ISAC) Endro Sudarsono who accompanied Kemis received an explanation from the police that Ikhsan had been shot twice. The shot was directed to the stomach and right thigh.

According to him, the option to shoot the abdomen actually does not need to be done by the police. He estimated that it was the shot in the stomach that might have caused Ikhsan to die.

"He only rides onthel (paddle bicycle) bicycles, he should be able to be captured without injury. Even if there is a shot, it is only crippling, but not deadly. This may be a shot in the stomach that causes death," he said.

The National Police finally gave a written statement related to the arrest and shooting of Ikhsan. It was stated that Ikhsan took the fight to get measured action from the police.
