When many countries record thousands of positive cases per day, the two cases seem too small to worry about.

But for the previous 24 days, New Zealand did not record a single positive case of Covid-19.

So, the case allegedly caused by a violation of quarantine rules was enough to encourage New Zealand Minister of Health, David Clark, to resign from his position.

On February 2, a man in the Philippines was recorded as the first person outside of China to die from Covid-19.

At that time, there were no positive cases in New Zealand. But the next day, the New Zealand government banned foreigners from entering their country, both from and through China.

Every New Zealander who returns from China is required to isolate himself for 14 days.

When the corona virus spread to various countries, New Zealand banned flights to and from Iran. New Zealand's first positive Covid-19 case came from Iran.

New Zealand entry restrictions are also applied to anyone who comes from South Korea, northern Italy, or those who experience clinical symptoms of Covid-19.

As of March 16, everyone, including their citizens, must undergo isolation upon arrival in New Zealand. Only migrants from island nations in the Pacific region are excluded from this provision.

New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, claims the regulation is the most stringent in the world. He said, "will not forgive" the violation of these rules.
