This statement was issued by Palo Alto Networks through a recent study of the behavior of the business world in Southeast Asia, especially Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand on cybersecurity.

From the results of a survey conducted in early February 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic escalated globally, it was seen that there was a consistent increase in the value of cybersecurity investments in countries that were subject to research.

Indonesia is the country with the largest amount of investment among the other countries surveyed. Despite efforts to improve cybersecurity, nearly half (44%) of the companies surveyed said they remained unsure whether their investment had provided the necessary protection.

Seeing the many attempts to break into cyberattacks in Indonesia in 2018 and 2019, it is not surprising that the findings of the survey showed that 4 out of 5 companies (84%) stated that they had increased their budgets for cybersecurity during this period (before the COVID pandemic occurred. 19).

Indonesian companies also show a clear commitment to increase visibility when it comes to handling cybersecurity risks: Most (92%) of companies report reviewing their cybersecurity policies and standard operating procedures at least once a year to avoid cyber attacks.
