News24xx.com - Jeff Bezos announced plans to launch a charity with an initial commitment of USD 2 billion. The founder of the Amazon e-commerce company uploaded an announcement related to this on his personal Twitter account. About a year ago, he once asked his followers on social media about how he could channel a portion of his wealth to charity.

Funds from the "Bezos Day One Fund" will be used to help homeless families and establish kindergartens in low income communities. In his tweet, Bezos said funds would be channeled to a number of organizations that have a big impact and worked to provide shelter and food for the needed.

In addition, this institution will also launch and operate a network of high quality kindergarten schools and provide full scholarships in the midst of an inappropriate community environment.

"We will establish an organization that directly operates these schools" Bezos wrote in his message. He also said the schools would later use the same principles as those implemented in Amazon companies.

With his predicate as the richest person in the world with a wealth of around USD 163 billion, Bezos reportedly rarely do charity. In his hometown, Seattle, he was criticized for being less concerned about the increasing number of homeless people.
