News24xx.com - Thursday September 20th, 2018, President Director of the Public Corporation (Perum) Bulog Budi Waseso did not want to interfere with the rice import policy from the Ministry of Trade. Even Budi Waseso requested that the imported rice be stored at the Office of the Minister of Trade Enggartiasto Lukita.

As reported by CNNIndonesia, Budi Waseso or commonly called Buwas said that he would not interfere with the import policy of the Minister of Trade Enggar.

"It will not be in the Bulog warehouse (where imported rice is placed) but in the Ministry of Trade office," Buwas said, Wednesday, September 19, 2018.

For Buwas, the Minister of Trade Enggar has committed to using his office to store rice that will be imported in 2018. Buwas said that Indonesia's rice stock is still sufficient to meet the needs until next year.

Data from the National Logistics Agency, rice stocks are still 2.4 million tons. Plus the rice import contract of 1.8 million tons made in 2017 has not yet fully entered. "Those who have entered are only 1.4 million tons. It came from the import process last year," said Buwas. Meanwhile, the remaining 400 thousand tons will only enter Indonesia until October 2018.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade, Oke Nurwan, said that the import agreement (PI) had not been revoked. This means that rice imports will still be carried out.
