News24xx.com - Some forests in Vietnam are home of spider habitats. Although it looks scary and dangerous, it turns out that these spiders are a popular food there. During the rainy season, many Vietnamese people go to the Phan Dung forest, located in Binh Thuan province, Vietnam. They go there to hunt for wood spiders, which have yellow color and have a delicious taste.

Reported by Nhan Dan, October 14th 2018, this wooden spider has the scientific name 'Nephila Pilipes', its body has the colors of black with yellow lines and spots on its back and stomach. There are also those that have pink color. "There are many species of spiders in the forest, but only black spiders with yellow lines are safe to eat" said a representative from the Protected Forest Management in Tuy Phong region.

These wood spiders breed during the rainy season. The size is also quite large, and looks creepy. But this spider has become a food that saves people around the forest, when they run out of food. "Wood spiders are considered as animals that have special benefits for health. These spiders are also useful for saving people who live around the forest, if they are starving because their food supplies run out" said Manh Hanh, as an expert of catching spiders, and live near Phan Dung forest.

The way to cook wood spiders is also fairly simple. If there are no pots or pans, many people who cook spiders use stick, and then roasted it on charcoal.
