Ilhan Omar, the first hijab woman in Minnesota government, US

News24xx.com - A woman from Somalia, Ilhan Omar, became the center of attention of the world because she became the first hijab woman elected in the Midterm Election in the United States. She represents the Minnesota area. Previously Ilhan Omar became the first hijab woman to occupy a government seat in Minnesota. She got 135,318 votes from five districts in Minnesota.

As a Muslim and black woman, Ilhan has a strong determination to fight Donald Trump's politics which is considered to discriminate against Muslims and immigrants. Ilhan came to America as a refugee 20 years ago. At that time she was 12 years old. Ilhan was finally able to study to get a bachelor's degree in Political and International Science at North Dakota State University.

With the election of Ilhan in the central government of America, the more likely there is a breakdown of Trump's political retoria against Muslims. Moreover, Ilhan is not the only Muslim who was elected in this November 2018 Election. Reporting from CNN, Rashida Tlaib who was a Muslim was elected in the US Sela Election. Tlaib is also a Palestinian refugee.
