"Based on our monitoring in several locations of weather observation stations in Bali in the past few days there has been a slight increase in air temperature, especially the maximum and minimum daily air temperatures" explained Taufan via a short message to CNNIndonesia.com, Friday, on January 11th 2019.

Taufan emphasized that this temperature increase was not because of Mount Agung's activities, but because of other factors, which is the position of the sun is on the south of the equator in January. As a result, the areas south of the equator including Bali will feel hotter.

In addition, the position of the sun also causes weather lately which tends to be bright cloudy during the day in some areas of Bali. It also makes the region get more heat due to the lack of clouds blocking the heat of the sun.

"At night the weather tends to be cloudy so that the heat that should be released by the surface of the local area is held back by clouds that cause temperatures to warm up at night when compared to when there are no clouds" he said.
