Unusual lifestyle of new president of Mexico turns out make all of his guards to be confused

News24xx.com - The simple style of the Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, turned out to often make his aides troublesome, especially when traveling. Unlike most state officials who use first-class facilities which provided by the state, Obrador prefers to travel using commercial aircraft in economy class.

Obrador also welcomes residents who want to take pictures, hug, and even kiss him. "Of course, what kind of photo you like" Obrador said to a woman in the airport who wanted to take a picture with him when he was about to board a flight to Sinaloa on Tuesday, February 19th 2019.

Quoted by AFP, Obrador is indeed known as a simple figure. The man, familiarly called by his initials, AMLO, even sold dozens of government aircraft, including the presidential plane which was worth USD 218 million in early December, two days after he officially served as president.

He felt it was inappropriate to travel with that multimillion-dollar plane, when there were still many citizens who were hit by poverty. In addition to being reluctant to use the presidential plane, Obrador was also unwilling to be escorted by many guards. On his flight to Sinaloa, the 65-year-old man was only accompanied by five unarmed guards.

In fact, Sinaloa is one of the areas with high crime and the basecamp of drug cartels which led by Joaquim "El Chapo" Archivaldo Guzmán Loera. The guards of Obrador were also called not from security specialist agents. They are reportedly recruited to secure the president based solely on their loyalty.
