Preventing the Spread of COVID-19, Class II A Tembilahan Prison Has Freeed 48 Inmates

Inhil-A total of 48 inmates (prisoners) in Class II A Prison Tembilahan have been released in the last two days.

The release of prisoners is in accordance with 19.PK/01.04.04 concerning the Release and Release of Prisoners and Children Through Assimilation and Integration in the Framework of Preventing and Combating the Spread of COVID-19.

"Yesterday, the 20 assisted residents that we released today, we released 28 people," explained the Head of Binasdik Lapas Tembilahan Prison, Sukur.

He explained, one of the considerations in freeing the prisoners was the high level of occupancy in prison, special guidance for children, and state detention centers so that they were vulnerable to the spread of the Coronavirus.

"The prisoners in prison have reached 726 people," he continued.

Sukur also said, the decision to release the prisoners was also based on the decision of the Minister of Law and Human Rights number 19 of 2020 concerning assimilation for the prisoners and for preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Indonesia.

He also added that the fostered people were not released just like that but also had to fulfill the requirements of freedom, and the liberated trade would continue to be monitored by the police (Inhil Police) and Tembilahan Prison.
 
"The conditions that must be fulfilled for inmates and children to be able to get out through assimilation are to have served 2/3 of the criminal period on December 31, 2020 for prisoners and have served 1/2 the criminal period on December 31, 2020, for children", he continued.
