This report was received by the Ministry of Communications and Informatics (Kominfo) of Indonesia.

Based on the Kominfo report, there is an increase in the number of netizen reports related to negative content on Twitter over the previous year.

In 2016, complaints related to social media as much as 3.211 complaints, but in 2017 its increased drastically reached until 521,530 complaints.

Factor spike in the number of reports on Twitter this occurred in August 2017, at which time Kominfo received 521,350 complaints.

In second place, Kominfo combines Facebook and Instagram which both total reach 857 complaints in the last year. The next position was occupied by YouTube and Google 163 complaints, Telegram 112 complaints, BBM 5 complaints, and Line 1 complaints.

Content complaints on social media increased from the previous year, according to Kominfo as people become more aware to combat the negative content that spreads on social networks.

To that end, Kominfo also hopes Twitter and other roles can solve the problem in the future.

"OTT (Over The Top service) must be ready to cooperate in handling negative content and must be responsive," said Head of Public Relations Ministry of Communications and Informatics, Noor Iza on Tuesday January 9 2018.
